LIAT comes to Haiti

The Caribbean airline LIAT is launching flights to Haiti, announced the company.

Beginning with December 5, 2014, LIAT will operate flights from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

The planes will take off from Santo Domingo at 10:40 am and arrive to Port-au-Prince at 11:30 am; and will leave Port-au-Prince at 12:20 pm and land in Santo Domingo at 1:10 pm.

"The new route will meet customer demand and provide connections for customers to travel within the Caribbean to and from this growing market," announced a statement from LIAT.

This decision comes at a time when the carrier also announced "a major initiative to restructure its commercial activities to meet customer needs and to improve performance of the airline" and new schedules for its flights throughout the Caribbean.

LIAT is an Antigua-based regional airline that operates flights to 18 destinations in Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique, Puerto Rico, St Croix, St Kitts, St Lucia, St Maarten, St Thomas, St Vincent, Tortola, Trinidad, and soon Haiti.
