Twenty Canadian organizations primarily from the infrastructure and agri-food sectors participated in a trade mission to Dominican Republic and Haiti last week. The purpose of this mission was to match Canadian capabilities with opportunities in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
The mission was led by Bernard Valcourt, Canadian Associate Minister of National Defense and Minister of State.
In Haiti, the delegation was received by the Center for Investment Facilitation (CFI) and the Presidential Council for Investment and Economic and Social Council.
“Haiti remains a focus for La Francophonie and for Canada,” said Minister Valcourt. “We aim to reinforce existing trade links and create new business opportunities between Canada and Haiti. The Haitian private sector and international investors have an important role to play in rebuilding and strengthening Haiti’s economy.”
