Haiti and Ecuador signed a tourism cooperation agreement

On September 13, 2012, Haitian Minister of Tourism Stephanie Villedrouin and her Ecuadorian counterpart, Freddy Ehlers, signed an agreement of cooperation at the Second International Congress on Ethics in Tourism in Quito, Ecuador.

The two ministers agreed to cooperate in management and protection of natural and monumental heritage sites, as well as in areas of training and certification. The agreement also encourages the exchange of experiences, statistics, and other types of resources.

In July this year a similar agreement has been signed between Haiti and Mexico. Just as Mexico, Ecuador agreed to serve as advisor for Haiti tourism development issues.

During the event Minister Villedrouin noted that the Haitian government would promote not just Haiti's natural beauty, but also Haiti's arts and culture.
