Inauguration of the first tourism school outside of Port-au-Prince

On May 6th, President Martelly inaugurated the Institut de Formation Hôtelière et Touristique (IFORHT), the first tourism school outside of the capital city.

Through this school, located in Les Cayes, the Government aims to give people from the region an opportunity to train and obtain a job in a growing sector, and to also improve the service quality in the hotels and tourism facilities in the South of the country.

The School occupies the former base of the United Nations peacekeepers from Senegal.

The inauguration ceremony was led by President Martelly and Haiti's Minister of Tourism Stephanie Villedrouin, who has made hospitality trainings as one of the Ministry's priority.
