REGION Nippes Department: Miragoâne, Anse-à-Veau, and Baradères

Nippes (Haitian Creole: Nip) is one of the ten departments of Haiti. It is the latest department, having been split from Grand'Anse in 2003. The capital of the department is Miragoâne.

The Nippes Department works closely with municipalities, communes, and other emergency management partners to prepare for, protect against, respond to, and recover from all hazards.

The Nippes Department must work with the whole community to reduce the impact of natural disasters, reduce risks, improve public safety, protect the environment, and to prepare communities, families, and individuals for all possible hazards. The aim is to be ready in all manner for disastrous events.
