REGION Sud-Est Department: Bainet, Belle-Anse, and Jacmel

Sud-Est (Haitian Creole: Sidès, English: South-East) is one of the ten departments of Haiti. It has an area of 2,034.10 km² and a population of 632,601 (2015). Its capital is Jacmel.

The Sud-Est Department works closely with municipalities, communes, and other emergency management partners to prepare for, protect against, respond to, and recover from all hazards.

The Sud-Est Department must work with the whole community to reduce the impact of natural disasters, reduce risks, improve public safety, protect the environment, and to prepare communities, families, and individuals for all possible hazards. The aim is to be ready in all manner for disastrous events.




Arrondissements

The department is divided into three arrondissements:

Bainet Arrondissement
Belle-Anse Arrondissement
Jacmel Arrondissement

There are fifteen other smaller towns or villages, including: Banane, Bourcan-Bélier, Cavalier, Coutelas, Forêt-des-Pins, La Fond, La Vallée, Mare Rouge, Mayette, Mombin, Platon-Besace, Saint Antoine, Savane-Zombi, and Seguin.
