Overview

  • Approximately 45,000 people attended the 7th edition of Festival Kompa Zouk Ontario (FKZO), which took place from July 29 to August 3 at various locations including the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto, smashed the previous record of participation despite inclement weather.

Since 7 years, FKZO has gained devoted fans. They come from Ontario, Quebec, other provinces of Canada, several US states and even the Caribbean.

The 2015 edition leaves behind memories of unforgettable experiences including the FKZO Idol competition; extraordinary performances by Melorize, Ekspresyon, Jah Nissi, Andi y Los Latinos, Woodney Pierre and Natasha Waterman; the beautiful costumes of Dominica; the Komi Olaf art exhibition; the sold out "FKZO on the Sea" Boat Cruise sponsored by OLG; a standing ovation for J-Perry, Mikaben and Izolan who sang new songs along with their popular songs "Dekole" and "Ti-Pam Nan"; an impressive Domino competition and of course no one can forget the exceptional performances by Phyllisia Ross and the group Phantoms, who lit the West Jet stage up with pyrotechnic-like effects.
