Overview

  • Mr. Jean-Baptiste is a native of Port-au-Prince where he completed his secondary studies at College Canado Haitien and attended INAGHEI to pursue a degree in Business Administration.

He moved to the United States in 1994 and earned a dual degree in Management and International Business at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He later obtained his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University with a concentration in Healthcare Management.

Mr. Jean-Baptiste helped found the Haitian Association of Indiana, a local organization that serves the small Haitian community in Indiana. HAI’s contribution to a diverse and growing community of Haitians in Indiana has been significant particularly on how the organization brought forth Haitian immigrant issues to the concerned citizen of Indiana. With the advent of the earthquake in Haiti in 2010, HAI was the only Haitian representation in town and it was pulled in many directions to serve as the only link to Haiti able to speak on behalf of the native land.

Among the many opportunities that came along, Mr. Jean-Baptiste traveled to Haiti soon after the earthquake with a group of Engineers from Purdue University (IUPUI) whose expertise was solely focused on long-term solutions, including how to rebuild Haiti better with innovative ideas that could serve as seed to recovery.

Despite the limited success of the trip, there were many lessons learned that Mr. Jean-Baptiste will later on apply to achieve long lasting work in Haiti. Two years later, in collaboration with Partners In Health, Helmer Scientific and multiple other organizations, Mr. Jean-Baptiste spearheaded a medical mission trip to Mirebalais, where he brought medical and laboratory equipment along with engineers to train and establish protocols consistent with best laboratory practices around the world.

Mr. Jean-Baptiste is self-employed and currently contracting with TekniScience in Montreal, Canada serving as their Business Development Manager.

Mr. Jean-Baptiste now lives in Indiana with his wife and two kids where he enjoys all facets of his kids’ activities as well as dedicating his time to Brownsburg High School Soccer Team where he coaches at the JV level.
