Mission AJPAE’s mission is to help provide access to excellent education, health, and food for all children to enable them to function fully in our society. We aim to provide them with the opportunity to learn a trade and to further develop their skills so that in 20 years these children will become experts in their fields. This way, they not only become useful to themselves and to their families, but become better citizens and are able to participate in the new Haiti that we all dream about.
Who We Are AJPAE (Association des Jeunes Progressistes pour l'Avenir des Enfants) is an initiative started by young women and men who come from different neighborhoods in Haiti and are conscious of the difficult social situations that the majority of the people face, especially the children.
This idea comes after several findings, such as the inability of the Haitian government to ensure basic social services for the disadvantaged children, and the lack of willingness to provide assistance to those in need. It was with those issues in mind and urgency to do something, that the founders established this project aimed at helping children in difficult situations in order to help them develop their capabilities and talents.
The project began in Cite Soleil, one of the largest and worst slums in Haiti, in an area of that town called Village des rapatriers zone rout nef. This is a model that we wish to replicate in other parts of the country that need this kind of project.
Our Goal Our goal is to empower children to develop socially through education that they receive in all forms.
